The Saudi Arabian police have arrested 23 foreign residents for 43 crimes in Jeddah.
According to the Makkah provincial police, the 23 residents were of Pakistani and Indian descent.
Perpetrators posed as bank employees and sent random messages to victims claiming their ATM cards were blocked. In order to reactivate their cards, they requested confidential information and OTP numbers from the victims.
They also entered one of the victims' accounts on a government platform, according to police.
Police seized 46 mobile phones and 59 SIM cards from the men after they took over semi-deserted courtyards in a Jeddah neighborhood.
According to the police, the perpetrators were arrested, legal measures were taken against them, and they were referred to the Public Prosecution.
