13265 Illegal Expats Were Arrested By Saudi Arabia In One Week From 7th To 13th April

The joint field campaigns by the departments of security forces and Jawazat to follow up and control infringements of residency, work, and border security regulations, which took place in all regions of the Kingdom, between 7th April and 13th April 2022, led to the arrest of 13,265 illegal expats.

1. In total, 13,265 violations were caught during the inspections throughout the Kingdom, including 8,490 violators of the residence law, 3,147 violators of the border security regulations, and 1,628 illegal expats caught for violating the Saudi Labor Law.

2. Three hundred and seventy-seven violators were arrested while trying to cross the border into the Kingdom. Of them, 39% are Yemenis, 39% Ethiopians, and 22% are others, while 34 were arrested while trying to cross the border out of the Kingdom.

3. A total of nine individuals were arrested for transporting, operating and providing shelter to people who violated residency, work and border regulations and covering them up.

4. 93,877 violators are currently facing punitive measures, including 88,070 men and 5,807 women.

5. 81,853 violators were directed to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 2,707 to complete their travel reservations, and 12,261 to be deported.

In Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that anyone who facilitates the entry of violators of the border security system into the Kingdom, or transports them within it, or provides them with shelter, or provides them with any assistance or service in any way will be subject to the following penalty.

Imprisonment of up to 15 years, a fine of up to 1 million Riyals, and seizure of the means of transportation and housing used for shelter, in addition to defaming it, and announced that this is one of the most serious crimes that should be reported, urging everyone to report violations to the number 911 for Makkah and Riyadh and to the 999 and 996 for the rest of the Kingdom.
