Based on information obtained from the relevant authorities, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah published a circular updating the requirements for persons travelling to the Kingdom from overseas to conduct Umrah or visit.
Through its official Twitter account, the Ministry of Hajj informed pilgrims and guests that the processes for entering the Kingdom to conduct Umrah or visit had been updated. This is in order to protect the pilgrims' health and safety, and is based on information provided by the appropriate authorities on the Kingdom's response to the Corona virus and its variants, as follows:
2.On Wednesday, February 9th, 2022, at 1 a.m., the processes will begin.
- Earlier this week, Hisham Saeed, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, revealed that since the start of the Umrah season till now, the number of pilgrims who have entered the Kingdom on an Umrah visa has risen to 282,000 in 6 months.
He went on to say that demand for Umrah permits from outside the country is expected to rise, especially as Ramadan approaches, and that health procedures are subject to pandemic changes.
