Saudi Arabia's Council of Ministers approved the extension of the duration of a single entry visit visa to three months and the duration of a transit visa to 96 hours.
The changes to the visa system were approved by the Council of Ministers at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
- The Cabinet decision extending the period of stay to 3 months (90 days) applies to all single entry visit visas. Visit visas valid for one entry are valid for 30 days, after which the visitor must extend the visa for another 30 days through the host's Absher, while multiple entry visas are valid for 90 days.
The validity of the transit visa for the visit will be extended to 3 months under the new visa structure, and the duration of the stay on the transit visa will be extended to 96 days free of charge.
The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, announced last month that the Umrah visa will now be extended to 3 months from 1 month for all nationalities.
