Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for African Affairs Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Qattan urged the US on Wednesday to remove Sudan from its state sponsors of terrorism list.
Qattan met with the US special envoy to Sudan Donald Booth in Riyadh and expressed Saudi Arabia’s support for the safety, stability, and people of Sudan.
He also stressed the necessity for the international community to coordinate and cooperate in order to prevent any obstructions to the transitional period and its aims.
Washington has included Khartoum on its list of state sponsors of terrorism since 1993 on charges of collaborating with extremist groups, notably Al-Qaeda.
