Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan on Saturday said that the Kingdom expects to reopen its embassy in Qatar in the coming days.

“It is just a matter of logistics and full diplomatic relations will resume,” Prince Faisal said

He made the remarks at a joint press conference with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Al-Safadi following their meeting in Riyadh.

The Gulf rift was resolved earlier this month during the 41st Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) annual meeting that was hosted in AlUla, Saudi Arabia.

The countries have opened up their air spaces to each other and some flights have resumed.

Prince Faisal also stressed the need to reach a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

“We are continuing our coordination with Jordan on regional and bilateral affairs,” Prince Faisal said.

“Discussions tackled bilateral relations and ways to employ them in favor of joint Arab work,” Prince Faisal added.

They also covered regional developments, including the situation in Syria, Libya, Lebanon and Yemen, as well as Iran’s meddling in the region.

For his part, Al-Safadi hailed Amman’s “strategic and historic” relationship with Riyadh, underling Saudi Arabia’s constant support for Jordan in confronting economic challenges.

He added that Jordan is seeking a fair and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, saying that Riyadh and Amman are committed to the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.

The minister also condemned the Houthi militia’s attempts to attack Saudi Arabia, and he said he rejected Iran's interference in the region’s affairs.

“We are working to develop our relationship with the GCC on the security, political and economic levels,” Al-Safadi said. — SG
