The security spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia, Colonel Talal Abdulmohsen Al-Shalhoub, clarified the details of the penalty for violating the institutional quarantine for those coming from outside the Kingdom.
During Yesterday's Press conference, he said “The penalty for violating the institutional quarantine for those coming from abroad includes imprisonment for a period not more than 2 years and a fine of 200,000 riyals or both.”
- Al-Shalhoub further added, In case of repeated violation, the penalty is double and if the violator is a resident expatriate, he will be deported from the Kingdom and his entry to it is permanently banned after the penalty imposed against him is implemented.
- Yesterday, The Ministry of Interior announced within one week from 21st November to 27th November 2021, total 871 violations of precautionary and preventive measures against corona virus was recorded all over the Kingdom.
- Makkah region tops in it with 269 violations, Riyadh region with 217, Madina region with 181, Hail region with 118, Eastern region with 39, Tabuk region with 33, Al Baha region with 8 violations, Asir region recorded 5 violations, Al-Qassim region with 1 violation, while Jazan, Al Jouf and Najran regions recorded 0 violations of precautionary and preventive measures.
- The Ministry of Interior highlighted to Saudi citizens and resident expatriates of the need to continue to stick to preventive measures and to follow by the instructions issued by the relevant authorities in this regard.
