Man Arrested For Impersonating A Health Practitioner In Saudi Arabia

Local media reported that Saudi security authorities arrested a man for pretending to be a doctor and posting videos on social media.

After posting video clips on social media, claiming to treat patients, and misleading patients and those in need of treatment, he was referred to the Public Prosecution.

According to preliminary investigations conducted by the Public Prosecution, the suspect created social media accounts and posted misleading medical information. Investigations also showed that he does not have academic qualifications in any medical specialty or licence to practicing medicine.

According to the charges, the man published social media content that claimed he provided treatment services without a license from the competent authority, which is the work of a health practitioner. He was also found violating the Law of Practicing Healthcare Professions and its executive regulations, and the laws against financial fraud, breach of trust and information crimes.
