SR100 fines will be slapped on anyone who raises his voice in public places in the Kingdom, causing harm to others. Saudi Public Decorum Society vice president Khaled Abdul Karim said this.
After being approved by the Shoura Council and the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers, the regulations related to violations of the Public Decorum Law were approved by the Council of Ministers.
According to Abdul Karim, the fifth item of the regulation states that uttering a voice or doing something in public that harms or intimidates visitors or puts them in danger is considered a violation of public decency and a fine of SR100 is imposed for the first offense.
Recently, some markets in the Kingdom have taken punitive measures against violators of regulations. Among the violations were raising voices in public places, harming people, disturbing them, and causing them inconvenience. Public decorum violations in the Kingdom should be reported to the competent authorities at the Ministry of Interior.
The regulations require men and women to dress modestly and refrain from using profane language. Littering, spitting, taking pictures and videos of people without permission, and playing music during prayer times are among the public decency violation. The fines range from SR50 to SR6000 for violations.
