The General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) in Saudi Arabia clarified the conditions for the issue of an external authorization for vehicles owned by individuals, Saudi citizens, and residents of other countries.

This came in response to an inquiry on Twitter from Saudi Moroor, who asked, "Peace be upon you, I have a car registered in my name as a Saudi national, can I get an authorization to travel outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia?"?

According to Saudi Moroor, an external authorization is required in order to travel on it outside of the Kingdom. His clarifications of the authorization are as follows.

For vehicles of a private type, authorizations can only be issued through the Ministry of Interior's website. For all other types of vehicles, such as taxis, buses, and public transport, it is currently handled by the Traffic Department.

* The vehicle's registration license and insurance must be valid.

* Traffic violations must not be on the authorized person's record.

* Driving license that is valid.

* External authorizations cannot last longer than six months.

* Authorizations are free of charge.

* Any security or traffic violations must not be found on the vehicle record, or the owner's record, or his authorized representative's record.
