Category: Crime News

In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a Saudi citizen has been apprehended by the Environmental Security Forces for violating the Kingdom's Environment Law. The individual was found in possession of 43 wild and predatory animals, including some endangered species. This act constitutes a serious offense, as acquiring such animals without the necessary permits is against the country's Environment Law and trade regulations.

The suspect has been taken into custody and handed over to the Public Prosecution for further investigation and legal proceedings. To ensure the well-being of the seized animals, they have been transferred to the National Centre for Wildlife Development (NCWD) and will be relocated to a dedicated shelter.

Saudi Arabia imposes stringent penalties for trafficking endangered animals. Those found guilty of this crime can face hefty fines of up to SR30 million and a prison term of up to 10 years, or a combination of these penalties based on the severity of the offense.
