international Indian School, Dammam, celebrated the 37th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. The Chief Guest Awad Bin Mohammed Al Maliki, Director of National and Foreign Education, presided over the function. Guest of honor was Hussein Al Maqboul, Assistant Director, Ministry of Education. Other dignitaries included school chairman Kaleem Ahmad, Managing committee members, Principal and head of institution ZubairAhmed Khan Ex Chairman, MC members, Principals from neighboring schools, Awardees, sponsors, teachers, parents and students.
Kaleem Ahmad, Chairman of the Managing committee, in his address assured complete dedication of his team for the continuous advancement of the school. He briefed about the on going programs for the welfare of the school community. He emphasized the need for acknowledging contributions of school founders and successive commiittees in nurturing the great institution. The Chairman announced that the multipurpose hall in the Girls section will be named as Abdulappa Hall”, in memory of one of the school founder AbdullappA. The Boys section hall is titled as “Prof. Rasheeduzafar Hall”
The school Principal and HOI,. Zubair Ahmad Khan, presented the School Annual report. This included the milestones achieved during the last academic session and school’s vision vision to provide a conducive and encouraging environment; for students to participate in a variety of intra and inter school activities/competitions and to enhance their overall development. Principal & HOI highlighted IISD as the lead collaborator school to meet and carry forward the CBSE vision of “Hub of Learning”.
The Chief Guest and the Guest of honor addressed the gathering. They admitted that they were impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the students. In their speech they appreciated the efforts of the students and the high standards set by the school.
The Chief Guest and the guest of honor awarded service awards to the teaching and non teaching staff for their dedicated and relentless service. Ms Dhanalaxmi Ramanujam, N M Prasad were conferred and honored with 35 years of service award.
Mrs Mohammadi Begum was conferred with 30 years long service award followed by Mrs Neeta Khanna, Mrs Jayasree kumar, Mohamed Sathiq MJ, Krishnan and Jayachandran for 25 years of service. John Joseph, along with Mrs. Jancy John, Mohammed Azim Farooqi and senior teachers Arshad, Mrs Sarita Biju, Prabhakar Chandola and Jessy John were honored for their 20 years of service.
Thirty three teachers and admin staff from various sections were among the awardees who have rendered their relentless support and service to the school for last ten years.
On this occasion the chief guest distributed special awards and scholarships to the students who were nominated as the Best Sport persons of the year, and the Principal’s Award for the best outgoing students of the year. (Girls and Boys)
The budding artists of the school from various sections presented colorful and melodious entertainment programs which includes musical dramas, play, dances and orchestra.
