Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed that those on a visit visa for the Kingdom are not allowed to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage.
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah added that the pilgrimage can be performed on a visa that is designated for Hajj or by regular citizens (iqama holders) of the Kingdom.
- This was a response from the Ministry of Hajj via its official Twitter account in response to a question from a resident, asking: His mother is with him on a visit visa, so can she perform Hajj rituals?
According to the ministry, the Hajj rituals can only be performed by those with a visa specifically for this purpose or those with regular residency permits in Saudi Arabia.
According to the Ministry, the date for local pilgrims to apply for Hajj pilgrimage for the year 2022 (1443 AH) will be announced soon through the Ministry's official channels.
