Fines for Violations of Civil Aviation Law
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has imposed financial penalties amounting to SR8.7 million on airlines and individuals violating provisions of the Civil Aviation Law and related regulations. The violations were highlighted in GACA’s report for the third quarter of 2024.
Breakdown of Fines Imposed on Air Carriers
GACA’s Committee for Reviewing Violations issued 197 decisions regarding airlines' failure to adhere to regulations. A total of 177 violations were related to non-compliance with Passenger Rights Protection Regulations, leading to fines of SR8.5 million. Additionally, air carriers were fined SR150,000 for disregarding GACA’s instructions.
Penalties for Civil Aviation Regulations Violations
Three more violations, involving licensed companies’ failure to comply with GACA’s civil aviation regulations, led to fines totaling SR60,000. Individuals using drones without permits were fined SR25,000, and nine violations onboard aircraft resulted in fines exceeding SR3,100.
