Dependent's Visit Visa Extension Not Linked To Expat's Iqama Expiration In Saudi Arabia

According to Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Passports, an expatriate's iqama or residency permit does not prevent a dependent visitor's visa from being renewed.
Ajel reported that the explanation was in response to a question regarding whether a resident whose iqama expired could still extend his children's visit visas.
Saudi authorities, however, denied in September that the Interior Ministry had agreed to convert the visit visa into a regular iqama for foreigners.
Migrant workers make up a large part of the Saudi Arabian population.
