The Saudi Control and Anti-Corruption Commission has initiated 117 cases of financial and administrative corruption during the current month of Ramadan.
The authority revealed in a statement a number of the cases that it had started, which were: “Two employees of a security guards company exploited the state support for private sector companies and employees – affected by the Corona pandemic – and borne by (60 percent) of their salaries, where they participated in registering a number of employees in The Sand system, and entering data that are against the truth in return for obtaining (50 percent) of the support provided to each employee, and the company continuing to pay their salaries in full. She added that «an employee of the Ministry of Tourism has breached his job duties and proceeded to obtain monetary amounts (bribes) in partnership with 13 people in exchange for following the procedures for awarding contracts for hotel rental contracts in Jeddah Governorate that the state is renting to provide housing service for citizens returning from abroad to spend the quarantine period.
She pointed out that “three employees in the private sector were involved in offering bribes to some employees of the Ministry of Health to violate their job duties in contracts for the ministry to rent hotels to provide quarters for quarantine,” as well as “five people, including two employees of the General Authority of Zakat and Income, were involved in bribe incidents by establishing One of the authority’s employees to obtain bribes from three people working in the accounting, auditing and tax consultancy offices and zakat, in exchange for preparing memorandums to cut tax bills on several companies, the value of one of those bills exceeded (30) million riyals, and the other authority’s employee follows up on the beneficiaries ’transactions in return for Receiving sums of money (bribe) ».
The commission noted that “a lawyer, three administrators at the Public Prosecution and a security man in the General Directorate of Prisons were involved in bribes (bribes) through the fact that the lawyer, exploiting his work previously as a member of the Public Prosecution, offered bribes to two of its administrators in exchange for providing him with some information and documents pertaining to some cases, in exchange for directing the accused For his office to trust them and request mediation from another administrative employee of the Public Prosecution and from a security man who works as a case warden in a prison for the purpose of providing him with some documents and information pertaining to some of the accused », indicating that“ those involved in the five cases have been arrested, interrogated, and the public For referral to the competent court to decide what their right ».
And she stated that «two persons presented a sum of money as a bribe to one of the employees of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu in exchange for obtaining a commercial license in an irregular manner, and they were seized with the crime, and the legal procedures against them are being completed.
