Activists on social media shared a video showing a date palm falling over the car of a Saudi citizen during a heavy sandstorm that swept through Riyadh city on Saturday.
A citizen in the car miraculously escaped without being injured. In a swift turn of events, however, he was punished for the accident. The Najm for Insurance Services Company registered 100 percent error for no fault of his.
Video of the sandstorm and accident was taken by a motorist who traveled behind the car involved in the accident. It became an instant hit on social media.
"A palm tree fell on the car. While tweeting the video, he stated, "There were three cars between me and that car.".
One of the date palm trees was uprooted and fell on a citizen's car while he was traveling on a public road in the capital city during the heavy sandstorm. An image of a palm tree falling on his car was later published by the citizen.
"After the palm tree incident, praise be to God for His kindness, as I am doing well."
Furthermore, he stated: "I thank everyone who inquired about me, with your feelings that went beyond this incident. “Thank you for the clean work you are doing,” the motorist responded, but added, “My question is for Najm: Why was I charged with 100 percent error?””
Activists on social media commented on the video, expressing their sympathy and solidarity with the citizen, stating that the Riyadh Municipality should compensate him for the damage caused by the falling date palm tree.
In addition, they objected to Najm's error for finding fault with the innocent citizen and slapping him with 100 percent error.
