In order to fulfill his lifelong dream of performing the Hajj pilgrimage, a British Muslim trekked through 11 countries to reach Mecca.
In addition to using a handcart as a shelter, Adam Mohammad set out on his 10-month journey from Birmingham in Britain.
As the 53-year-old man told Saudi television Al Ekhbariya, he would have given his life willingly if this journey had cost him his life. I would be prepared to travel 20 years to reach the Holy Mecca if it cost me 20 years to get there."
He reunited with his family in Medina and headed to Mecca after reaching the Saudi holy city.
"I have been pushing my carts with my daughters since they were little," he said.
The Saudi government has announced that 1 million pilgrims will be allowed to perform the Hajj this year after restricting it to some thousands of Muslims living inside the country for the last two years due to COVID-19.
