Two Doctors Died Due To Coronavirus In Saudi Arabia

Mecca recorded the first death of a resident doctor after being infected with the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), while working in a government hospital in the holy city of Saudi Arabia, according to the Daily Okaz Newspaper.

The Pakistani doctor, Naeem Khalid Chaudhry, 47, died of coronavirus while performing his duty to confront the epidemic.

He was a specialist surgeon at Mecca's Hera General Hospital. The Health Affairs Department mourned the death of Chaudhry, stating he was a role model for the medical staff for his tireless and brave efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Chaudhry was one of the best medical professionals under the health department who was in the forefront of the ongoing fight against the pandemic. We consider him as one of the martyrs, who stood at the first lines of defence,” said the director General of Health Affairs in Mecca region.

Earlier last month, Mecca also announced the death of a health worker named Al Husseini who was working as a nurse.

Meanwhile in Riyadh, another Sudanese doctor died due to COVID-19.

King Saud University faculty member and a consultant in Hematology and Oncology Mohammad Al Faki died due to being infected with coronavirus.

The College of Medicine at King Saud University and the Saudi Society for Paediatric Hematology and Oncology mourned the death of the Sudanese consultant, praying to Allah Almighty to rest his soul in eternal peace and grant his family patience and solace.
