The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia unveils the implementation of a Wage Protection Service (WPS) via the Musaned platform, safeguarding domestic workers' salaries effectively.

Key Details and Phases:

Effective from July 1, 2024, the WPS commences its rollout, initially benefiting newly hired domestic workers.

Phased implementation extends to existing domestic workers based on employer size, aiming for full coverage by January 1, 2026.

Aligned with the ministry's commitment to bolstering the domestic workers sector, the WPS employs digital wallets and licensed banks via the Musaned platform for transparent salary transactions.

Implementation Phases:

From January 1, 2025, employers with 4 or more domestic workers will adopt the WPS.

By July 1, 2025, employers with 3 or more workers will integrate the service, followed by those with 2 or more workers by October 1, 2025.

Since its April 1, 2022 launch on the Musaned platform, the service has garnered positive feedback from stakeholders, ensuring seamless transactions.

Employers benefit from enhanced financial transparency and streamlined processes, ensuring clarity in income management.

Termination procedures and dispute resolutions between employers and workers are facilitated, promoting a balanced and secure working environment.
