Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) announced that employment contracts for Saudi nationals and non-Saudis (expatriates) will be approved and documented through Qiwa. Therefore, it is the approved platform for documenting and approving work contracts.
This comes in implementation of the Council of Ministers' decision specifying that the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development will be responsible for managing the contractual relationship between the worker (Saudi or expatriate) and employer, from the date of registration of the contract until the expiration of the contract.
A Qiwa platform will automatically synchronize the data with the public institution of social insurance once the employment contract has been documented.
- The Ministry of Human Resources, by requiring that contracts be documented online, through the Qiwa platform, aims to provide protection for both parties to the labor contractual relationship (Workers and Employers), increase compliance levels with salary payments, and make the Saudi Labor market more attractive.
With the support of all relevant government departments, the MHRSD is facilitating the process of registering workers, documenting and implementing work contracts through the unified platform Qiwa for the business sector, and registering employees with the GOSI (General Organization for Social Insurance).
