Grace Period Extended Following Royal Directives
The Ministry of Interior announced the extension of the grace period for paying a 50% reduction on accumulated traffic fines by six more months. This initiative follows directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
New Deadline and Eligibility Details
The extended grace period will end on April 18, 2025, after the initial grace period expired on October 18, 2024.
- The reduction covers all traffic violations committed before April 18, 2024.
- Offenders can pay fines in lump sum or individually per violation.
Financial Relief for Citizens, Expatriates, and Visitors
The traffic fine reduction aims to alleviate the financial burden on citizens, expatriates, visitors, and GCC nationals by encouraging timely payments.
Payment Process through SADAD and Efaa Platforms
Fines can be paid via SADAD and Efaa platforms. The General Directorate of Traffic warned users against suspicious links or unauthorized service providers.
Violations That Disqualify Offenders from Discounts
Four serious violations make offenders ineligible for the discount:
- Drifting.
- Driving under the influence of drugs or banned substances.
- Exceeding speed limits by:
- More than 50 km/h on roads with a 120 km/h limit.
- More than 30 km/h on roads with a 140 km/h limit.

The Ministry of Interior urges drivers to follow traffic rules to maintain safety and benefit from the current grace period.
