Saudi Arabia recorded a new record high for confirmed infections with the emerging coronavirus, with this rate reaching 1687 cases.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, stated during a press conference that 1687 confirmed new cases of Corona virus, bringing the total number of infected people to 31,938 people, including 27% of the Saudis and 73% of non-Saudis.

Al-Abd Al-Ali pointed out that 20% of the new cases were recorded among females and 80% among males.

Today’s rate represents a new record for the increasing rate of confirmed infections with the virus in the Kingdom, and comes after the index reached in the statistic of May 1, 1344 cases, and on May 2, 1362, and on May 3, 1552, and on May 4, 1645, and on May 5, 1595.

Al-Abd Al-Ali mentioned that 24946 of the registered cases are active, of which 137 are considered critical.

The health official reported recording 9 new deaths caused by the disease, after this rate was at the level of 8 cases on May 3, 7 cases on May 4, and 9 cases on May 5, bringing the number of corona virus victims in the kingdom to 209 deaths.

And the high slave announced the monitoring of 1352 new cases of recovery, in the biggest increase for this indicator since the outbreak began in the country, bringing the total number of people who recover from the virus to 6783 people
