Overview of Arrests During Security Campaigns
Over the past week, Saudi security authorities arrested 19,541 unauthorized residents in a comprehensive field campaign conducted in coordination with relevant government agencies from December 26 to January 1, as announced by the Ministry of Interior.
The arrests included 11,402 Residency Law violators, 4,775 Border Security Law offenders, and 3,364 Labor Law violators.
Border Security and Illegal Entry Attempts
Breakdown of Border Crossers by Nationality
A total of 953 individuals were apprehended attempting to cross the border into Saudi Arabia. Among them, 40% were Yemeni nationals, 58% Ethiopian, and 2% from other nationalities.
Fleeing the Kingdom: Arrests of Individuals Attempting Exit
Additionally, 129 individuals were arrested while attempting to flee the Kingdom illegally.
Legal and Punitive Measures Against Violators
Ongoing Legal Proceedings for Offenders
Currently, 33,733 individuals, including 30,724 men and 3,009 women, are undergoing various stages of legal proceedings as part of punitive measures.
Diplomatic Coordination for Deportation
Authorities have sent 22,827 violators to their respective diplomatic missions for travel document processing, while 5,365 individuals were recommended to finalize travel arrangements. A total of 8,954 individuals have already been deported.
Severe Penalties for Aiding Illegal Activities
Fines, Prison Sentences, and Asset Confiscation
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that anyone found facilitating illegal entry, providing shelter, or aiding violators in any form may face penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to SR1 million, and confiscation of vehicles or property used for these purposes.
Government Warnings and Reporting Mechanisms
The ministry urged the public to report any violations by dialing 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, or 999 and 996 in other areas of the Kingdom.

The public is encouraged to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting any activities or individuals in violation of the law. This support is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of the Kingdom.
