Saudi police have arrested 12 Syrian expatriates for their involvement in a public brawl in Riyadh. The incident, which was captured in a video clip, reportedly occurred due to a dispute among the group, according to the General Directorate of Public Security.

The General Directorate stated, "They were arrested. Disciplinary procedures were taken with them, and they were referred to public prosecution." However, it did not specify the exact timing of the altercation. A photo showing the 12 arrested Syrians was released by authorities.
Previous Cases of Law-breaking Among Expatriates
In recent months, Saudi authorities have detained numerous expatriates in connection with various offenses. In July, 11 expatriates were arrested for obstructing traffic in Riyadh, with 10 of them being Bangladeshi nationals. Another suspect was arrested for filming the act, which violated the kingdom’s anti-cybercrime law.
Copper Cable Theft Case
In June, Saudi police arrested 14 expatriates suspected of stealing copper cables worth over SR8 million. Among the offenders were 12 Pakistanis and two Afghan nationals. They stole the cables from buildings under construction and warehouses in Riyadh.
Other Arrests Related to Violence
In May, a Turkish resident was arrested in Mecca for suspected arson, while other Bangladeshi expatriates were detained for public violence in Riyadh.
