Category: Crime News

Saudi authorities take decisive action as 16 individuals, including nine expatriates, face arrest in Riyadh for engaging in public violence linked to traffic altercations. The crackdown aims to uphold law and order on the roads.

In one incident, a group comprising six Yemenis, a Sudanese national, and three Saudis was apprehended after a video surfaced showing them involved in a physical altercation following a traffic collision. The offenders have been referred to the public prosecution for further legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, additional arrests were made by security patrols in the Saudi capital, targeting six individuals engaged in a brawl over road usage priority. Among those arrested were two Syrian expatriates and four Saudi nationals, as confirmed by the Saudi General Directorate of Public Security.

Saudi Arabia's recent enforcement of stricter penalties for traffic violations underscores its commitment to reducing road accidents and ensuring public safety. Law enforcement efforts have led to the apprehension of several motorists found guilty of breaching road regulations.

Earlier incidents include the arrest of 19 expatriates, identified as Syrian nationals, for unlawfully organizing a motorcade that disrupted traffic flow on a public road. Similarly, cases of individuals disrupting traffic and violating public morals, as evidenced by recorded videos circulated on social media, have prompted swift police action.

In recent months, arrests have been made for various offenses, including obstructing traffic for photo-taking, engaging in public disturbances, and disregarding road safety protocols, underscoring the authorities' vigilance in maintaining order on Saudi roads.
