Exciting news from Dammam and Qatif Governorates as the Transport General Authority (TGA) and the Saudi Public Transport Company (SAPTCO), in collaboration with the Eastern Province Municipality, introduce state-of-the-art electric buses to revolutionize public transportation.

Key Figures at the Launch: Dr. Rumaih Bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, Acting President of TGA, and Eng. Mohammad bin Abdulmohsen Al-Husseini, Deputy Secretary of the Eastern Region, graced the launch ceremony, marking a significant step towards sustainable and efficient public transit.

Eco-Friendly Features: These electric buses adhere to the latest standards, boasting comfort, eco-friendliness, and cutting-edge technology. Equipped with a powerful 420 kW battery, the buses can operate continuously for up to 18 hours, covering 300 km on a single charge.

Connectivity and Efficiency: In addition to prioritizing passenger needs, the buses come with built-in WIFI networks and USB ports, enhancing the overall commuting experience. The energy efficiency of these buses aligns with the broader goal of promoting sustainable transportation in Saudi Arabia.

Project Overview: This initiative is part of a larger project aiming to enhance public transportation in Dammam and Qatif. With 85 electric buses operating on 8 routes, covering 400 km and making 218 stops, the project aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy (NTLS) goals.

Future Vision: By encouraging a 15% increase in public transportation usage by 2030, the project strives to support NTLS objectives and contribute to a greener and more efficient transportation system. The Electric Bus project aims to facilitate seamless movement, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance overall quality of life.
