In a public advisory, the ministry outlined a list of banned items, including:

• Counterfeit currency

• Unregistered medications

• Surveillance devices

• Radar detectors

• Stun guns

• Laser pens

• Hidden cameras

Pilgrims are encouraged to review the full list of prohibited items on the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) website to ensure a smooth and secure journey.

Luggage Guidelines for Umrah Pilgrims

The ministry has also issued guidelines for luggage specifications for air travelers heading to the Grand Mosque. Pilgrims should adhere to airline baggage rules to avoid any inconvenience at airports.

Baggage Restrictions:

• Do not bring unstructured or circular bags, as they may not fit properly in overhead compartments.
