TGA Issues Warning: SR5,000 Fine For Unlicensed Passenger Transport In Saudi Arabia
Category: Saudi Arabia

The Transport General Authority (TGA) in Saudi Arabia has sternly warned against unauthorized passenger transportation, imposing a hefty fine of SR5,000 for any violations. In a bid to elevate transportation standards and ensure compliance, the authority urges unlicensed carriers to align with authorized companies, emphasizing the array of incentives and support programs available for those who comply.

To foster a culture of safe and reliable travel, the TGA has joined forces with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Interior, the Pilgrim Experience Program, the Public Prosecution, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and MATARAT Holding Company to launch the #DontrideWithNonLicensed campaign. This initiative seeks to educate the public on the significance of utilizing licensed carriers, thereby guaranteeing secure and dependable transportation services to and from the Kingdom's airports.

Travelers at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah have a plethora of options at their disposal, including nearly 2,000 taxis, over 55 car rental offices, public transport buses, licensed passenger transport applications, and the Haramain High-Speed Railway.

Licensed transportation companies prioritize enhancing the travel experience by offering electronic payment facilities and real-time trip tracking, ensuring utmost comfort and safety for passengers.
