Eng. Ahmed Al-Sulaim, CEO of the Jeddah Central Development Company (JCDA), has announced the signing of four significant contracts paving the way for the construction of three monumental landmarks in Jeddah. These include a state-of-the-art sports stadium, an awe-inspiring opera house, and a captivating oceanarium, alongside essential infrastructure development in downtown Jeddah. The ceremony, marking the signing of these pivotal agreements, took place at the heart of the Jeddah Central Destination, as per an official statement.
The contract for the initial phase of infrastructure development in the Jeddah Central Destination has been entrusted to China Harbor Engineering Arabia Company Limited (CHEC). This initiative aims not only to honor Jeddah's rich historical legacy but also to celebrate its vibrant contemporary culture on a global scale.
In line with international standards and FIFA specifications, the contract for the construction of the sports stadium has been awarded to the Consortium comprising the Saudi branch of the China Railway Construction Corporation and Sama Construction for Contracting. Designed to accommodate 45,000 spectators, this stadium will feature innovative cooling systems, making it suitable for hosting various regional and international sporting events.
The oceanarium project, serving as a captivating portal into the mesmerizing depths of the Red Sea's marine life, has been entrusted to the expertise of Modern Building Leaders (MBL). Through immersive experiences, this endeavor seeks to underscore Jeddah's commitment to preserving its marine ecosystems while offering visitors an unparalleled glimpse into underwater wonders.
Similarly, MBL has been selected for the construction of the Opera House, envisioned as a hub of creativity and cultural exchange. With three theaters boasting cutting-edge specifications, this architectural marvel will further elevate Jeddah's status as a melting pot of diverse artistic expressions.
