1. Renewal timeline — when can you renew?
Domestic workers
Domestic workers’ Iqama can be renewed as long as the current Iqama is less than 14 months old (i.e., within the permitted window before a full cycle).
Note: For domestic workers, the “14 months” refers to how much time is left until expiry (remaining validity), not time since issuance.
Commercial / non-domestic workers
For commercial (non-domestic) workers, the Iqama is eligible for renewal when its remaining validity is less than 6 months. Additionally, the worker must have a valid work permit and active health insurance.
