Great news for the workforce! The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia has revealed that the number of work contracts documented through the flexible-work platform (mrn.sa) has reached an impressive 358,440.

The online platform facilitates flexible-work contracts between employers and employees, offering hourly-based employment without end-of-service benefits. This innovative approach aligns with the demands of the labor market, enabling employers to efficiently manage and activate human resources.

Under the flexible-work system, various professions have flourished, including general salesmen, groceries sellers, technical services consultants, food service supervisors, and administrative assistants. Industries such as construction, logistics, engineering consulting, retail, building maintenance, canteens and cafeterias, exchange centers, design, and programming have greatly benefited from this program.

The program aims to create new job opportunities for Saudis, empowering them to integrate into the job market and enhance their skills. It caters to diverse groups, including male and female secondary school students, working mothers, employees seeking part-time work, and private sector companies. Employees' working hours with a single employer should be less than half of the total working hours at the firm.

By promoting Saudization, the flexible-work program contributes to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives. It bolsters the national economy by increasing the integration of local talent into the job market and reducing unemployment rates. Additionally, it helps decrease the reliance on illegal expatriate workers in the shadow economy.
