Saudi Customs Seizes Over 1.2 Million Captagon Pills In Smuggling Bust At Halat Ammar

The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,225,200 Captagon pills, concealed in a shipment arriving through the Halat Ammar border crossing. The operation demonstrates the authority’s vigilance in combating drug trafficking and safeguarding the Kingdom.

The shipment, which contained a marble mixer, was subjected to routine customs inspections. Using advanced t echnology and live detection methods, customs officers discovered the banned pills concealed within the mixer.

Collaboration with Drug Control Authorities

After seizing the illegal shipment, ZATCA immediately coordinated with the General Directorate for Drug Control to  track down the intended recipients. Two individuals were arrested and charged with the smuggling attempt.

ZATCA’s Commitment to Security

ZATCA emphasized its commitment to tightening customs controls across all import and export points in Saudi Arabia. The authority’s efforts are part of a broader collaboration with the General Directorate for Drug Control to ensure public safety and protect society from the dangers of drug trafficking.
