Saudi border guards successfully intercepted a significant drug smuggling attempt, seizing 1.6 tons of hashish in Sharurah governorate, located in the southern Najran province bordering Yemen. The Interior Ministry revealed that three individuals, including a Yemeni violator of the kingdom's border security law and two Saudis, were apprehended in connection with the foiled bid.

The Interior Ministry shared a video depicting the three suspects post-apprehension, along with the confiscated hashish haul. This recent success is part of Saudi Arabia's ongoing efforts in the "war on drugs," with several attempts thwarted in recent months.
Ongoing Anti-Drug Operations:
Highlighting the dedication to combating drug trafficking, Saudi authorities have reported multiple successes. In October, anti-drug police seized 3.8 million amphetamine tablets in Riyadh, leading to the arrest of eleven individuals, including eight expatriates and three Saudis. Additionally, customs authorities foiled a smuggling attempt of 932,980 Captagon pills hidden in a pomegranate shipment at the Saudi Duba port in October.
