Saudi Arabia has announced Thursday, February 22, as a national holiday in honor of Foundation Day.

Normal trading and official activities will resume on Sunday, February 25. This annual celebration, decreed by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, commemorates the kingdom's rich historical, cultural, and civilizational heritage, tracing back to its establishment in 1727 by Imam Mohammad bin Saud in Diriyah. It symbolizes Saudi Arabia's journey towards unity and prosperity.

The day is marked by various events highlighting the kingdom's culture and history, including military parades, art exhibitions, and community competitions. Additionally, concerts and sporting events contribute to the festive atmosphere.

Last year, public sector employees enjoyed a three-day break, while private sector companies had the flexibility to grant one or two days off to observe the occasion.
