In an initial decision, the Saudi Health Committee fined a well-known health professional SR100,000 for "repeatedly spreading incorrect information" on social media.
According to Sabq, the professional is frequently seen on social media.
A fine of SR100,000 was imposed due to the severity of the practitioner's violations and their impact on public health.
Saudi health professionals are prohibited from self-publicity directly or indirectly, and from practicing diagnosis and treatment methods that aren't recognized by the kingdom, except in cases specified in its executive regulations.
Health workers have recently been urged to follow the Saudi Health Ministry's code of ethics and refrain from publishing unsupported scientific claims.
