Prince Salman bin Sultan Launches Historic Initiative in Madinah

Prince Salman bin Sultan, Emir of Madinah Region, officially launched the “In the Prophet’s Steps” project on Monday, a historic initiative dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the route taken by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during his Hijrah (migration) from Makkah to Madinah.

The inauguration ceremony took place near Mount Uhud, attended by Prince Saud bin Mishal, Deputy Emir of Makkah Region, along with distinguished scholars and government officials.

Strengthening Spiritual Connection and Historical Preservation

In his speech, Prince Salman bin Sultan reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to preserving and developing the Two Holy Cities, reinforcing the Kingdom’s dedication to serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors.

He highlighted the initiative’s role in enriching pilgrims’ and visitors’ spiritual journey, offering them a unique opportunity to walk in the Prophet’s footsteps while deepening their understanding of Islamic history.

“The project stands as a testament to the Saudi leadership’s unwavering efforts to preserve Islamic heritage sites and provide an unparalleled experience that blends spiritual depth with cultural authenticity,” Prince Salman stated.

Key Features of the ‘In the Prophet’s Steps’ Project

Five Interactive Stations

The initiative includes five immersive stations, each narrating a pivotal event from the Prophet’s migration, allowing visitors to gain a deeper historical and spiritual insight.

The Migration Museum

A dedicated Migration Museum will provide visitors with a detailed understanding of the Hijrah, displaying artifacts, interactive exhibits, and historical records related to this pivotal chapter in Islamic history.

Saudi Arabia’s Vision for Islamic Heritage and Tourism

Prince Salman emphasized that this project is part of a broader vision to rehabilitate and activate significant Islamic heritage sites, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh, highlighted that the project showcases Saudi Arabia’s historical and civilizational heritage, in line with the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

He confirmed that the “In the Prophet’s Steps” experience will be officially launched in November and will continue for six months, providing a transformative experience for visitors.

Ensuring Accuracy and Authenticity

The initiative was meticulously developed in collaboration with renowned historians and governmental institutions to ensure the highest level of historical accuracy and authenticity.

By integrating advanced technology and interactive storytelling, the project aims to enhance visitor engagement while preserving the rich legacy of Islamic civilization.
