Saudi Arabia emerges as the world's most connected country, boasting the premier road network worldwide, as affirmed by Eng. Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics.

During the launch of the "Safe Distinguished Roads" campaign in Riyadh, Minister Al-Jasser revealed that Saudi Arabia has achieved a remarkable reduction of nearly 50% in serious accidents, fatalities, and injuries in recent years.

Addressing the campaign's objectives, he emphasized the commitment to enhancing the efficiency and safety of the extensive road infrastructure while delivering top-notch services to road users.

Minister Al-Jasser underscored the significant advancements made in road quality, safety measures, and user experience over the past several years, attributing the improvements to substantial investments in infrastructure.

Regarding safety measures, Al-Jasser highlighted the substantial decline in serious accidents and fatalities, attributing this achievement to diligent efforts by engineers to enhance road quality, upgrade intersections, address hazardous locations, and prioritize safety investments.

Drawing attention to the United Nations' objective of halving the accident fatality rate by 2030, the minister expressed confidence in Saudi Arabia's ability to elevate road standards, citing substantial investments in infrastructure development.

According to Minister Al-Jasser, Saudi Arabia has made remarkable progress in road condition, with a notable rating of 5.7 achieved within just three years, surpassing expectations and positioning the Kingdom well ahead of its 2030 targets.
