Saudi Arabia Imposes Fines On Petrol Stations For Infrastructural Compliance
Category: Saudi Arabia
Beginning today, the Saudi Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing will enforce fines on petrol stations that fail to meet specific infrastructural requirements. Among these requirements is the maintenance of clean toilets, for which a fine of 2,500 riyals will be imposed.

This initiative comes as part of an official decree targeting establishments that commit municipal violations, with fines ranging up to 25,000 riyals.

The ministry's fines address various municipal violations, with a focus on gas stations that have not met the regulatory standards. The outlined penalties include:

1. A fine of 5,000 riyals for the absence of a mosque within the station premises, as per specified standards.
2. A fine of up to 5,000 riyals for not operating coffee shops at gas stations in accordance with municipal guidelines.
3. A fine of up to 5,000 riyals for gas stations that lack restaurants as per municipal specifications.
4. Fines ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 riyals for gas stations without tire shops.
5. A fine of up to 2,500 riyals for water leakage in toilets or lack of cleanliness within them.
6. A fine of up to 2,500 riyals for the unavailability of waste containers or unclean floors at petrol stations.

The ministry emphasizes that these measures are designed to maintain a standardized level of service and hygiene across all petrol stations. Establishments are strongly encouraged to comply with these regulations to prevent financial penalties and contribute to providing improved and hygienic services to the public.
