Saudi Arabia gave “complete and total support” to a US investigation into a deadly shooting by a Saudi aviation student at a Florida navy base, America’s chief prosecutor said Monday.
Saudi Air Force officer, 2nd Lt. Mohammed Alshamrani, opened fire last month at the base in Pensacola, killing three US sailors and injuring eight other people.
Attorney General William Barr said none of the other Saudi cadets training at the base had prior knowledge of or assited in the attack. He added that there was also no evidense taht the other cadets had any involvement with terrorist groups.
The Saudi embassy in the US said: "The disturbed and radicalized individual who carried out this terrible attack acted alone. He does not represent the hundreds of thousands of Saudis who have lived, studied and trained in the USA over the past several decades, nor does his heinous act represent the values of KSA."
