Saudi Authorities Arrest Four Expats Over Public Morality Violations at Massage Centre
Saudi police have arrested four expatriates involved in immoral acts at a massage facility in Riyadh. This marks the second such case reported in the kingdom this month as authorities intensify efforts to uphold public morality.
Crackdown on Violations of Public Morals
The Kingdom’s General Directorate of Public Security stated that the Riyadh region police, in coordination with the General Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking, apprehended the four individuals due to their involvement in acts violating public morals at a relaxation and body care centre.
Authorities confirmed that legal measures are being taken against the suspects, while punitive municipal actions are planned against the implicated centre. However, the identities of the individuals remain undisclosed.
Previous Similar Cases in Saudi Arabia
Earlier this month, Saudi police arrested five other expatriates at a body care centre in Jeddah for alleged engagement in activities that violated public morals.
Additionally, last week in Al Qassim, police detained three expatriates—one man and two women—for their involvement in prostitution. These arrests were also carried out in coordination with the General Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking.
Furthermore, Saudi authorities recently apprehended three foreign women accused of prostitution at a hotel in Riyadh. The security raid was conducted by Riyadh police in collaboration with the General Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking Crimes.
Establishment of General Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking
Earlier this month, the Saudi Interior Ministry announced the establishment of the General Department for Community Security and Combating Human Trafficking Crimes. The new department aims to enhance the efficiency of the security system and strengthen efforts in crime prevention.
The unit is specifically tasked with combating crimes that:
- Violate personal rights
- Breach fundamental freedoms guaranteed by Islamic Sharia law
- Degrade individual dignity in any manner
Saudi authorities have reiterated their commitment to enforcing strict measures against acts that undermine public morals and security.
