According to the Saudi Royal Court, the Civil Society Department of the Supreme Court confirmed that tomorrow, 2nd April 2022, Saturday, will be the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan in the year 2022 (1443 AH).

In Saudi Arabia, the holy fasting month of Ramadan will begin on Saturday, following the sighting of the crescent moon on Friday evening.

Ramadan fasting should begin and end according to sighting of the crescent moon, affirmed the Supreme Court, quoting the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).

It prayed to Allah to help Muslims fast during the holy month and perform their prayers. In addition, the court prayed that Allah may accept the good deeds of Muslims, unite their ranks, and promote reconciliation among them.

As a result of reviewing the testimonies that it had received, the Supreme Court confirmed that the crescent moon had indeed been sighted.

Saudi Arabia's King Salman addressed the Nation and Muslims on the occasion of Ramadan :

On the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 2022 (1443 AH), Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud addressed its citizens and Muslims throughout the world.

The following is the text of his speech, which was presented by the Minister of Information, Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi,

In the name of Allah the Merciful,

God alone be praised, and prayers and peace be upon him after whom there is no Prophet.

Dear Sons and Daughters, Brothers and Sisters, Citizens and residents of our dear country, and all Muslims everywhere,

Peace, Mercy and blessings of God be upon you,

We are grateful to God Almighty that we have reached this holy month, about which God Almighty said, "The month of Ramadan in which the Quran was revealed as guidance for people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. May God aid us and each of us in fasting and praying.".

It is God's grace upon us that Ramadan has brought us relief after hardship, with the reversal of the Corona pandemic, and we thank Him for the great success we have achieved in overcoming the pandemic and resisting its effects, first thanks to God, and secondly thanks to the Kingdom.

We are proud of what God has given us in the Service of the Two Holy Mosques, pilgrims, Umrah pilgrims, and visitors, and we are glad that the Kingdom, praise be to God, has permitted use of the full capacity of the Grand Mosque and Prophet's Mosque, after lifting the precautionary and preventative measures to address the pandemic.

In this great month, we are to do good deeds and obey, and we are to renounce differences and clear our souls. God, the Most Merciful, may He grant us all the ability to invest the breaths of Ramadan, for He is Hearing and Responding to our prayers.

- I cannot fail to thank our brave soldiers stationed at the borders, all military sectors, as well as all the workers in the state sectors, who devote themselves to serving the country, praying to God that they will receive the best reward for their efforts.

May God accept our fasting and standing, our good deeds, and grant us success and payment, and may God protect our country and all countries of the world from evil.

Peace, Mercy and blessings of God.
