In December 2023, Saudi Arabia witnessed a remarkable upswing in its private sector workforce, reaching a substantial figure of 10.9 million individuals.

The latest findings revealed a noteworthy breakdown, with expatriates constituting a significant portion, totaling 8.7 million in the private sector workforce, while Saudi citizens contributed to a count of 2.32 million.

This surge in the overall private sector workforce, which peaked at around 10.98 million individuals in December, underscores the continuous appeal of pursuing employment opportunities within the private sector.

The December 2023 labor market statistics for the private sector were unveiled by the National Labor Observatory (NLO), an agency operating under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD).

As outlined in the NLO report, a noteworthy 44,769 citizens made their inaugural entry into the private sector job market during this period. The report extensively delves into comprehensive employment figures for both citizens and expatriates, shedding light on the net employment growth specifically for citizens throughout this corresponding timeframe.
