In its latest publication, the National Labor Observatory (NLO) of Saudi Arabia unveils compelling statistics regarding the workforce in the private sector for the month of January 2024. This comprehensive report delves into the total workforce, including Saudi citizens and resident expatriates, providing insights into gender distribution, job growth for citizens, and the influx of new employees in the private sector.
According to the report, January 2024 witnessed a historic peak in the private sector workforce, reaching an unprecedented 11.054 million individuals. This remarkable achievement is attributed to various growth catalysts, including the proactive initiatives of the Human Resources and Social Development system, robust job creation, a thriving private sector, economic transformations, and government support.
The report breaks down the numbers, revealing that 2.327 million Saudi citizens were part of the private sector workforce in January. Among them, 1.375 million were men, and 952.4 thousand were women. Concurrently, 8.72 million resident expatriates contributed to the private sector, with 8.386 million men and 339,790 women actively employed.
Highlighting a positive trend, the report emphasizes the addition of 32,447 new jobs for Saudi citizens in the private sector during January. This expansion contributes to the overall net growth in employment opportunities for citizens.
