According to a recent report from the Ministry of Health, Saudi Arabia's population reached 34 million in 2021.
In the past ten years (2012-2021), Saudi Arabia's population increased by 16.8 percent, with an annual growth rate of 9.3 percent, according to Al-Watan newspaper.According to the report, about a quarter of the population was below the age of 15 in 2021. This shows that the young generation occupies the base of the population pyramid.
The ministry report indicated a decrease of 10 percent in the cases of pulmonary tuberculosis per 100,000 people during the last five years from 2017 to 2021 while the cases of non-pulmonary tuberculosis per 100,000 people in the same period dropped by 15 percent.
