Over 107,000 Firms Found Non-Compliant With Saudi Labor Law In HR Ministry Inspections

A recent inspection by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development revealed that 107,329 establishments in Saudi Arabia were found non-compliant with various articles of the Labor Law. These inspections are part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to regulate and control the labor market, ensuring adherence to Labor Law regulations.

Extensive Inspections Across the Kingdom

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has inspected over 700,200 private sector firms across Saudi Arabia from the beginning of 2024 until mid-July. This extensive operation is aimed at ensuring that employers comply with the Labor Law regulations, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.

Key Violations Detected

During these inspections, several key violations were identified, including issues related to salary payments and Saudization:

  • Salary Payment Issues: 59,891 employers failed to increase wages as specified by the ministry, while 16,295 cases involved employees not receiving their salaries.
  • Saudization Violations: 7,662 cases were recorded where foreigners were employed in professions or activities reserved exclusively for Saudi nationals.

Warnings and Localization Efforts

The ministry has issued 88,776 warnings to establishments found contravening the law. In their efforts to enforce Saudization, the ministry’s teams visited 522,092 establishments, resulting in 9,712 job opportunities for Saudi citizens and helping achieve targeted localization rates in various sectors.

High Compliance in Saudization

The percentage of establishments complying with Saudization regulations has increased to 93.5%. The ministry, in collaboration with relevant authorities, conducted 840 visits to petrol stations and service centers throughout the Kingdom as part of their monitoring efforts.

Ongoing Inspection Tours

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has reported that inspection tours are ongoing across all facilities in the Kingdom's regions and governorates. The ministry urges individuals to report any violations by calling the unified number 19911 or using the ministry's smartphone application.
