The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing in Saudi Arabia clarified the protocols for restaurants and cafes issued by “Weqaya (Public Health Authority)”, within the measures to prevent corona virus.

The protocols include removing the upper limit on a single table and only applying a spacing of 3 meters between tables.

The new updated procedures include the following :

1. Eating is allowed inside restaurants

2. Appointing observers at the entry points to make sure the completion of customers, scanning the code for automatic verification permits.

3. Customers must wear a mask all the time, unless he is eating or drinking.

4. Restaurants staff must cover their nose and mouth with a mask all the time.

5. Appointment of an official to cater the customers in the open buffet area.

6. Provide alcoholic based hand sanitizers.

7. Highlight employees on frequent hand washing, especially when preparing food, serving food, using bathroom, when direct contacted with co-workers or customers, after removing gloves.

8. Use electronic food menus.

9. Reduce the number of workers in food preparation area and prevent overcrowding

10. Apply Social distancing.

11. Redistribution of food preparation and processing plates to make sure about social distancing.

12. Arrange the tables inside the places where food is served in a way that ensures that there is a distance of not less than 3 meters between each table in the same hall.
