Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior confirmed the use of CCTV cameras and punishes anyone who shares or publishes recordings with a fine of 20,000 Riyals.

Those who violate the provisions of the security surveillance CCTV camera system by transferring or publishing recordings, or damaging or sabotage security surveillance camera systems and recordings, will be fined 20,000 riyals, the Ministry of Interior announced.

A security surveillance camera is a fixed or moveable device, designed to capture moving images as per the system's provisions, and does not include cameras placed inside residential units or compounds by individuals.

- By creating a list of sites where security surveillance cameras are prohibited from being installed, which are characterized by individual privacy, the law of using security surveillance cameras preserved the privacy of individuals. Furthermore, recordings cannot be transferred or used except by an order issued by the Ministry of Interior or the Presidency of State Security, or by a judicial order based on the conditions stipulated therein.

It is also forbidden to manufacture or import security surveillance cameras, as specified in the law, or to sell, install, operate or maintain them, unless the Ministry approves these activities according to the procedures outlined in the regulations.
