Starting from 21st February, Kuwait impose a decision of a mandatory 7-day institutional quarantine for all incoming flight passengers to Kuwait.
The decision states, the costs of the hotel quarantine will have to bear by the passengers. The decision is applicable for both Kuwait citizens as well as resident expats.
The Payment of the hotel quarantine to be paid before the travel, added officials. However, some of the lawmakers called on the government to review the decision, explaining that this move will add huge financial strain, specifically on students.
The Kuwait Hotel Owners Association (KHOA) has announced the recommended prices for each hotel category for 6 nights and 7 days.
For 3-star hotels, the room rate has been set at 20 KD per night for a standard single room and 30 KD for a double room with breakfast and airport transfer.
For 4-star hotels, the rates will be 30 KD per night for a standard single room and 40 KD for a double room with breakfast and airport transfer.
For 5-star hotels, the rates have been fixed to 45 KD per night for a standard single room and 55 KD for a double room with breakfast and airport transfer.
Kuwait imposed a 2-week ban on the entry of expatriates into the country from 7th February, with only close relatives of Kuwaiti citizens and domestic workers exempt from the decision.
Commercial shops, malls and restaurants will have to stay closed from 8 PM to 5 AM, However, delivery services can continue. Pharmacies and food stores are exempt from the ban.
But all health clubs, barber shops, beauty salons, celebration halls and tents have been ordered to close. All types of gatherings including national holiday celebrations including sports events have also banned later this month.
The restrictions to continue for 1 month starting from 7th February, with subject to re-evaluation.
Today, Kuwait reports 823 new Corona infections, 772 recoveries and 6 Deaths, Total corona cases in the country reached to 178,524 while 166,791 recovered and 1009 deaths and the total active cases reached to 10,724 with 138 cases are in critical condition.
