In a recent announcement, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has declared that baby strollers will not be permitted on the ground floor of the Mataf area, the sacred space where worshippers circumambulate the Holy Kaaba.
The authorities have established specific areas within the Grand Mosque in Makkah where strollers for children are allowed. Notably, baby strollers are permitted on the upper floors of Mataf and in the mas'a, the running area between Safa and Marwa. Access to these areas is facilitated through the King Fahd Expansion Area.
However, it's crucial to note that the use of strollers for kids may be restricted in the Holy Mosque when the Mataf and Mas'a floors are already overcrowded. This measure is in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all worshippers during peak times.
